My Review of Chosen by Blood

Chosen By Blood (Para-Ops, #1)Chosen By Blood by Virna DePaul

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Knox is a vampire, also the leader of his clan in his moms stead. He is totally in love with FBi agent Felicia...but she has been avoiding it since he married her Best friend. Knox finds himself asked by the FBi to lead a special team to find the vampire antidote. Now dont be thinking its a cure for the vampire because it isnt! i wont tell you what it is an antidote for because i'm not into spoilers but it's not what you think :)This team is a combination of a were, a vamp, a mage, a psychic, and a human. They all have a problem with at least one other individual on the team and that makes for a fast and sometimes laugh-out loud novel!

The characters in the story all have varing degrees of trust issues...I thought it was a nice addition to the story. I was drawn in from the get go and stayed with it through the end. i will definately be reading the next one in the series. With all the diverse characters..from vamps to wraiths it really kept my attention. I look forward to reading more about Knox and Felicia as well as the rest of the Para-ops team!

Do not miss this series! Funny, exciting and sometimes brought a tear to my eye! It has everything I look for in a book!

My Review for The Deadliest Bite

The Deadliest Bite (Jaz Parks, #8)The Deadliest Bite by Jennifer Rardin

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have always liked the Jaz series! In this last book we find Jaz up to her usual heroics and craziness. The cast of characters are wonderfully written. All of them are unique in their own ways from Astral(the robo kitty) to Jaz herself. Each one is faced with extrodinary challenges, and I was pulled in from the start. Jaz has to go to hell(literally) one last time to free herself from Brude. brude is a demon who has attacked Jaz and now resides locked behind a door in her head. Teen Jaz(also in her head) and real jaz locked him there to keep him from taking her over. All sounds a bit weird doesnt it? Well..thats not all..she has a boyfriend who is a vampire..friends who she just recently found out got married(without her knowledge) a robot cat who farts grenades and a friend who made it out of hell only to find out that in a while he will be dating Jaz's neice(who is still a baby!)

I am saddened that this is the last book in the Jaz series.

If you want a kick-butt, hilarious, mouthy heroine this is definately the book for you!

*go check out the rest of the series too..you won't be disappointed!

Shadow Bound by Erin Kellison Review

Death
Some people will do anything to avoid it. Even trade their immortal souls for endless existence.

Wraiths
Secretly, inexorably, they are infiltrating our world, sucking the essence out of unsuspecting victims with their hideous parody of a kiss.

Segue
Adam Thorne founded the Institute to study and destroy his monster of a brother, but the key to its success is held in the pale, slender hand of a woman on the run. There is something hauntingly different about Talia O’Brien, her unknowing sensuality, her uncanny way of slipping into Shadow.

Twilight
This is the place between life and what comes after - a dark forest of fantasy, filled with beauty, peril, mystery. And Talia is about to open the door.

My Review

Shadow Bound is Erin Kellison’s debut novel, and I would say it's a stunning debut! In a genre that is quickly becoming filled with vampires and werewolves, Kellison was able to create a completely different world. The concept may have been done before, but the brilliant story line makes this book stand out from anything else. Shadow Bound is fast-paced, engrossing, and the characters are well-developed and true to life.

My Review For: Demon Hunting In Dixie

Demon Hunting In DixieDemon Hunting In Dixie by Lexi George

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Addy is a small town southern girl who currently owns a flower shop. She comes from a family that has always ran the local mortuary(ewww).

Always wondering when sleepy Hannah,Alabama is going to have some action, she has a surprise coming! Cue Brand Dalvahni(not his last name but you have to read to find out why!) Ohh he is a hunky,Hot Warrior. The plot is supposed to be about Demon Hunting and it does follow it mostly. however, i found the characters and the inner dynamics of their various relationships the biggest draw to this book. Whether it is the interaction beyween Addy and her BFF Evie, or between Addy and meredith(aka the death Starr), heck even the interaction between brand and Addy is funny!

This story drew me in from the first page and had me wanting more at the end. There are other relationships at play throughout the story and I find it facinating how the author managed to put it all in here and not seem like it was too much too fast.

I am very much looking forward to the next book in this series!

I highly reccomend this to anyone who has a love for Hunky guys, funny characters, and a good laugh.

Sweet Venom by Tera Lynn Childs Review

Grace just moved to San Francisco and is excited to start over at a new school. The change is full of fresh possibilities, but it’s also a tiny bit scary. It gets scarier when a minotaur walks in the door. And even more shocking when a girl who looks just like her shows up to fight the monster.

Gretchen is tired of monsters pulling her out into the wee hours, especially on a school night, but what can she do? Sending the minotaur back to his bleak home is just another notch on her combat belt. She never expected to run into this girl who could be her double, though.

Greer has her life pretty well put together, thank you very much. But that all tilts sideways when two girls who look eerily like her appear on her doorstep and claim they're triplets, supernatural descendants of some hideous creature from Greek myth, destined to spend their lives hunting monsters.

These three teenage descendants of Medusa, the once-beautiful gorgon maligned by myth, must reunite and embrace their fates in this unique paranormal world where monsters lurk in plain sight. (Summary from Goodreads)

My Review

I was so excited to win this book on shortie-says.blogspot.com and i couldn't wait to read it. It was worth the wait because this book is so good i can't wait for the next book. Action packed and triplets that are decendants of medusa, oh yeah!! I've loved Greek Mythology since i was in middle school and this book was so good. This book was fast-paced which i love, action packed and some hot guys..lol gotta love them hot guys. It was a really interesting story also and great storytelling. I loved this book and can't wait for more.

Q: If you could have characters from a book meet and form an epic storyline with characters from a TV series, which characters would you choose and why?

I think I would have to say that i would have to go with Buffy the vampire slayer and the Black dagger Brotherhood series......

I mean how cool would that be? All of them mingling and yet here is the vampire slayer..I don't know call me crazy but I think it would be a good thing :)

Real Vampires Don't Wear Size Six by Gerry Bartlett

Real Vampires Don't Wear Size Six (Glory St. Clair, #7)Real Vampires Don't Wear Size Six by Gerry Bartlett

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely Love Glory! I have managed to read all of the books in thisseries and I have to say they just keep getting more and more interesting! I am torn however as I am wondering if this series will start to fizzle out as the books go on. It seems as though there has to be an ending somewher..right? I am interested to see where Glory will end up..and with whom she will end up with :)

Dynamic characters and funny story lines make this series a must read!!!!!

5 STARS from me!!!!!

Second Grave on the Left by Darynda Jones

August 16th 2011 Second Grave on the Left by Darynda Jones (Charley Davidson #2)

The Second Book in this series.....................
I have to admit...i did not read the first book..however, I never felt like I was missing anything. This book was well written and had enough back story included in it that i never once felt lost.
We open to a roll on the floor laughing scene between the main character Charley(I love the name!) and her quirky friend Cookie(also her receptionist) Cookie is just frantic..tries to get charley dressed in some awful clothes..then proceeds to try to cram her into the trunck of her car. It seems as though maybe Cookie has lost her mind, but alas, she hasnt. Come to find out her friend mimi has been missing for 5 days. Charley is a PI and Cookie is her receptionist, together with some zany family and one hot dude (Reyes) they imbarq on the quest to find Mimi.
Now about Reyes and Charley...it seems as Charley was growing up she has a "Big-Bad" that followed her around..she assumed it was a scary ghost..(she is the grim reaper after all)..Come to find out it was actually Reyes..aka..true son of satan. (this was all back story from the first book)

Anyhow Charley has to find Reyes, who is currently out of his human body and floating around stalking her, since he is being tortured by demons.

Fun Fun Book! I give it 5 STARS!!!!
