My Review
Teresea Santiago has been out in the desert
practicing her magic…she’s not supposed to be…There are humans out to hunt
witches down. Some to harness their
power, others just to kill them because they are afraid of what they are. Add
to that one hell-bent witch-gone-rogue and what you get is an action packed-cry and laugh kind of
series!
On that night in the desert her powers are awakened.
This is what she has been waiting for since her Abuela first started telling
her she was a witch. Her awakened powers
are far greater than she can imagine and she has no control over them. I mean
who really can control the elements???? This leads to trouble….it comes from
the sky in the form of a helicopter. And she just stands there……
Enter Rune, Teresa’s Eternal. Eternals are each
sworn protectors of witches. Each witch has their own Eternal and Rune is hers….At
the last minute he saves her from the humans hell bent on capturing her.
This is not the end of the story only the beginning.
Rune is stubborn and so sure that they can have a relationship without love.
Teresa is just as stubborn but has ultimately given up to the fate s and plans
to “do her duty” like her grandmother prepared her for.
The action in this book is great. The characters are
fun at times and serious at others, but you can tell that they have a
connection. There is trouble at every turn for them, difficult things that they
must learn to get through together. The interaction between the two is witty, funny,
and at times hearty breaking. It will be interesting to see where the
characters go from here. How will they evolve? What will happen to those damn villains
who are constantly pissing me off? That witch-gone-bad needs to just get
gone..period.
This Series is way beyond great…..
I used to be a vampire reader but over the past year
I have found myself gravitating toward witch, shifter, and fae type books more
and more. This series is one of the best “witchcraft” series I have read yet.
It is the ultimate Salem Witch trial for today’s society. Capture, imprisonment,
romance, and magic all rolled into one. It will definitely keep you on the edge
of your seat from the first page to the last. I know that I can’t wait for the
next book in the series.
Until next time….
Happy Reading

I read it not that long ago. I love reading other people's veiws on stuff I have read. I didn't like it over so much, not because I dislike witches, but more because the romance felt forced. I loved the scene in Mexico, at the store. What did you think?

The romance does feel a little forced, but I think it is becuase she is trying to work with 2 stubborn characters. They are almost so alike that they could be related....The Store scene in Mexico was really good.....Don't know how I feel about that old man though..it actually kind of creeped me out..
ReplyDeleteThat is kind of what I enjoyed about it. I think it was meant to be creepy, and it got the most reaction out of me. Did you read the first one?
DeleteI did read the 1st one :) I think I liked how Shea really didn't know what was going on when she got her powers. What did you think of the first one?
DeleteIt has been a while since I read it. I thought it wasn't that memorable, thinking back on it the first thing I remember is the opening at the school which was pretty cool. I think it is the heroes in these books I don't like. I understand they are ticked off, but they are a little too over bearing. Especially Shea's man.

ReplyDeleteI liked the opening. Some parts did tend to drag but overall I have been enjoying this series :)
